In an ultramodern production factory, the wish was to increase the employees’ involvement with the production process. Moreover, the aim was to motivate the employees and stimulate teamwork, in the largely automated factory. Game-like interactive infographics were developed for a large touchscreen in the canteen. The visualisation of real-time data resulted in a considerable attitude change amongst the employees. Furthermore, we implemented a concept that facilitates and stimulates the teamwork experience: a ‘social module’. The social module consists of employee profiles with: personal interests, badges, and skills. To fill in the personal interests, a window pops up regularly, asking a question about one of the team members. The profiles and pop-up window triggered social communication amongst the employees which increases the feeling of being part of a team.
